Life is going too fast!!

Already few weeks since the begining of thebouldering world cup has started, and it is easy to say you that the time is going pretty fast!!

The comp venue in Baku

F1, first dyno...

F3, second dyno!!

F4, the big fight!

The first stage of the world cup was in Chinea at the end of April. There, I was able to climb with my good shape of the French championship and the french selection earlier in April... I climbed well and take my ticket quite easily for the final round, where I encountered some difficulties. I didn't stay focussed on my own climbing, missing two dyno problems, even if it is usually my best style. Then, in the last problem, I gave some good fighting attempts, but felt at the last hold, totally exhausted... I finish this comp with a good 5th place, but I think I was able to climb better than that!!
Where I lost the podium

Q1 was not a "Welcome" problem!!

Just a few days in France, and we already flew to Baku for the second stage... And this time, I was really tired! I have not so much things to tell about this comp, except some lessons I could take... As we say, is by making mistakes we learn ...
As this comp did not inspire me a lot, I was not concentrated when I started the semifinals, and I didn't have a good feeling, I had trouble finding the right beta, and many more to climb these ones... Then, with all these unsuccessful attempts, I could not recover enough between my tries, and so felt at the top of problem 3 and 4, even if they were quite my style. Therefore I finish at a disappointing 15th spot...

One week later, in Switzerland, it's already the third stage. I had a start on this competition, until my third problem of semifinal, where I my both hands slipped of, while the boulder was already topped in my head... And si I miss the final, finishing 10th ... And as the chief route setter was the same than for the world championships, I'm a little disappointed with my result, but I could learn his setting style, especially discover that it was possible to open almost all the problems with a dyno or a "skate" (kind of dyno with feet, at the same time as the hands, and I had never tried it before).

The corner where my both hands slipped off, when it was almost done!!

All the finalists!
Then, we stay some days in Innsbruck, to train a little, and wait the fourth stage, which happened just 4 days later... And by limiting travel, I was able to rest a little more than the weeks earlier, which reload my power, and also good to take some good feeling for the upcoming comp... So I started this competition full of ambition, and made a very good start, finishing first in qualification, and semifinal! In the final round, I make sure to stay in my bubble, but I missed two problems, where I encountered some problems with my flexibility. I finished 5th in a very tough final ... It allowed me to put myself facing a reality that is my lack of flexibility, and so I work on it almost daily now, to arrive atop of my shape at the World Championships in Munich!
